In honor of my upcoming trip to Naples, I decided to design and illustrate a new postcard. The Mano Cornuto (Horned Hand) is an ancient good luck sign, the original “Rock On!” gesture, and is still very common in Naples, especially as a charm or pendant.
As usual, I started out with a simple scanned line drawing — in this case, I went with a more line-heavy, woodcut style to match the theme. When I colored it in photoshop, I offset the registration of the color layers to give the impression of vintage-style lithography.
