More face doodles; my sketchbook is full of these sorts of things! I was having great fun experimenting with my dip pen, which I find I really need to use more often. Dealing with the ink is a bother, but the control you get over your line quality is second to none.
The girl on top is another attempt at drawing effortless looking windswept hair using watercolor . . . . more attempts to follow, no doubt.

Age certainly hasn’t brought this spunky old gent down. Can’t you just hear him cackling with glee as zips along? I’d cackle too if I had a wheelchair like that, especially considering the comfy leather upholstery.
Faces with beards or other facial hair are always fun to draw. The lady in the middle seems a little bored by the whole thing though. Maybe she’s jealous because she can’t grow any herself?
“Come hither, dear people! Follow me, and I will lead you to my secret cave under yonder hill, where I keep a mountain of magickal jellybeans! You’ll have never tasted anything so delicious in your lives!”
“What? the stick? That’s, er. . . for, uh, stirring the jellybeans. Yes, that’s it. . . why?”
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen many inspirations for this fellow bumming around on 82nd Avenue, between Powell and Johnson Creek Boulevard. . .
Another portfolio project. 
Another portfolio-related piece. This was to be the poster for a vinyl record set I designed for a fictitious music group called Snow Garden. The girl is loosely based on Snegurochka, the snow maiden of Russian folklore. I’m not sure if she normally dumps wintery wind out of a cup, but it works quite nicely for the ambience.
One of my favorite projects. I did the original one over a weekend, after learning I was way behind on one of my class projects. For my portfolio class I added two more to make a set, with color and pattern variations.
Formosa was a vintage fashion line for the sake of the project, but for me its a reference to an aesthetic paradise where everyone dresses well. ( see the link on my homepage. )
