My pleasure 🙂 Yes, keep going! Could you recommend some exercises for beginner drawers? 🙂
Aw, you flatter me . .
Well, lets see. First thing I would recommend would be blind contours. Google them for more info; they’re quick, [relatively] easy, and they help you draw directly from the subject instead of how you imagine the subject to be. Even if you want to draw more out of your imagination down the road, they’re still incredibly useful.
For TECHNIQUE– practice drawing with a relaxed arm! Remembering to breathe, hold your pencil securely but not in a death grip, let your hand and forearm stay relaxed enough to make full contact with the paper, and then use your elbow or shoulder to power the strokes. Only use your wrist or knuckles for very fine tiny detail work, if at all.
This is my personal technique; some artists may have other ways, but if you like my style, this is how its done. I hope you are able to take all this and make something beautiful 🙂
Wow, thank you so much for all your helpful advice. I shall keep these tips in mind inshAllah (if Allah wills). Thanks again! Appreciated.
I think the last one is quite cool! I love seeing the features and details in a drawing. Hope you’re enjoying yourself in Europe 🙂
Thank you, Babbles. The last one was actually a successful exercise in keeping my hand relaxed– I’ll have to do more 🙂
